I’ve also just encountered that definition in the same article. It is funny indeed.
Less funny but also amusing… I misinterpreted the imperative “must” as a requirement/goal for the authors of the software as opposed to an implied assumption on the part of the users of the software. Leading to some confusion since I know from bitter experience that sendmail is quite far from “best available.” :)
